Los Ángeles, año 2029. Las máquinas dominan el mundo. Los rebeldes que luchan contra ellas tienen como líder a John Connor, un hombre que nació en los años ochenta. Para acabar con la rebelión, las máquinas deciden enviar al pasado a un robot -Terminator- cuya misión será eliminar a Sarah Connor, la madre de John, e impedir así su nacimiento.
In the year 2029, the machines, rulers of earth, decide to reshape the future by changing the past. They send a seemingly unstoppable cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from their year to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), a young woman whose future has an incredible impact on humanity. One other man has also been sent from the future (Michael Biehn), whose only mission is to save Sarah from her assasin.
